This easily corrected. Just open Synaptic packet manager and search for “my-spell”.
Select the languages that you want to add to the spell checker.

Start OpenOffice and open the “spelling and grammar” with the F7 key. Select the language and done.

  • Download OpenOffice 3.2 in you desired lanquage from http://download.openoffice.org/other.html#tested-full
  • Extract the OOo_3.2.0_LinuxIntel_install_nl_deb.tar.gz
  • Open Terminal and remove OpenOffice 3.1 completely with this command

    sudo apt-get remove openoffice*.*

  • Install OpenOffice with this command

    sudo dpkg -i Download/OOO320_m12_native_packed-1_nl.9483/DEBS/*.deb

  • Integrate OpenOffice 3.2 in your desktop

    sudo dpkg -i Downloads/OOO320_m12_native_packed-1_nl.9483/DEBS/desktop-integration/openoffice.org3.2-debian-menus_3.2-9472_all.deb

    • OpenOffice 3.2 is now available in your Ubuntu menu.
